The Women’s World Cup starts soon!

Good news soccer lovers, the FIFA Women’s World Cup begins in just over one week with Australia and New Zealand playing host to 32 countries!

The US Women’s National Team enters the tournament ranked #1 in the world and the defending world champions as well as fresh off a 2-0 win in a friendly against Wales. They begin tournament play at 9pm EST on Friday, July 21st against Vietnam (the game will be shown on FOX). If you’d like to cheer on the US Women’s team with other fans you can check out the watch party happening at Definitive Brewing in Portland.

The USA is grouped with Vietnam, Netherlands, and Portugal with group play games as follows:

USA vs Vietnam – 9pm EST on Friday, July 21st (show on FOX)
USA vs Netherlands – 9pm EST on July 26th (show on FOX)
USA vs Portugal – 3am EST on August 1st (show on FOX)

U13 – U14 Evaluations Rescheduled for Friday, May 26th

Evaluations have been rescheduled for our U13 and U14 travel teams. Our second evaluation session will take place this Friday, May 26th from 5:30-6:30pm at Talbot Community School.

These evaluations are especially for players who are new to PAYSA travel and did not attend the first evaluation.   

Maine Footy begins play this Sunday and needs PAYSA players for on-field activities!

Maine Footy, Maine’s newest professional sports team and only professional soccer team, begins play THIS Sunday at Memorial Field as part of the United Women’s Soccer league. The team is looking for PAYSA players for the following on-field activities:

– March onto the pitch with players from Maine Footy and New England Mutiny for the national anthem.

– Ballpersons on the sideline to assist with getting balls that go out of play

– To take part in a 10-minute scrimmage during halftime

If you’re interested please wear a PAYSA jersey and plan to be at the stadium by 5:30pm (game begins at 7pm). We’ll organize players for the various on-field activities at that time. All players will receive free entry to the game.
