INTRODUCTION
The linked resources below include great activities that can be worked into the play-practice-play format using the PAYSA Practice Plan Template with the aim of providing players with tactical sessions that create opportunities for technical work and improvement through high-volume touches on the ball. The philosophy is that as players learn the game, they also refine their individual skills. This model is opposed to technical-only sessions. Coaches can simplify activities by limiting or adding restrictions when players lack the understanding of a tactical concept, while still setting a tactical goal for the training session. Ideally, each coach should prepare at least one small-sided game-like activity with two variations, and one related game-conditioned activity for each training session. But, when in doubt, just let them play!
