The recreational program is now CLOSED. This program is intended for the younger levels to play all positions as they learning the basics of the game. All Rec activities will begin September 9th per the following times and locations:
U6 – Saturday @ Dougherty – 6 Sessions + 2 Rain Dates
U8 & U10 – Sunday @ Dougherty – 7 Sessions + 1 Rain Date
U12 – Saturday @ Presumpscot – 7 Sessions + 1 Rain Date
Teams will be formed with registrations received by July 15th, based on registered players and available coach volunteers. Beyond that date, team placement can not be guaranteed. PAYSA will form additional teams with late registrants on a first come, first served basis when numbers grow large enough to add a team, and only when a coach volunteer is identified to coach the team.
Coaching. Don’t be scared to coach! Many people are reluctant to be involved with their children’s teams because they lack understanding of coaching, or confidence enough in their own abilities. Coaching can be an incredibly rewarding experience in our Rec program, and we fully support all those interested in leading one of our teams! Either through online learning opportunities, licensing courses, lead-up clinics, and in season coaching tips & tricks, we try to help each of our coaches become the best resource possible for our players. If you find yourself wanting to take a proactive role in one of our Rec teams but don’t know how, please contact our Director of Coaching for more information and how to get started.
Volunteering. We are looking for some fantastic volunteers to assist in the planning and execution of our Fall Rec program! For those that are interested, we would waive associated registration fees for a child in the program. These positions are low impact, mostly communication based roles that help organize the teams and provide guidance on logistical issues. Most importantly they are designed to represent PAYSA in the larger community! Please feel free to contact us directly should you be interested in getting involved – team managers and administrators are welcome too!
